A true #naturenerd respects our natural world!
And often a #naturenerd also…
…enjoys learning about wildlife and the environment.
…enjoys being outdoors and interacting with the natural world.
…encourages others to learn about wildlife and the environment.
…uses science to better understand the natural world.
…supports wildlife and environmental education, legislation, representatives, and the likes that encourage a healthier global ecosystem.
…is an ambassador for their local wildlife and ecosystems, seeking to spread knowledge about the natural world.
I am Koaw, a proud #naturenerd. I love nerding-out with our natural world! If you feel you are also a #naturenerd then you may proudly wear the title of #naturenerd as well! Spreading knowledge about nature is an important responsibility. I trust you’ll continue to do well!
The Fine Print
Though the word “nerd” usually implies an individual possesses a higher level of intelligence than most others on one or more topics, we #naturenerds use the word “nerd” more interchangeably with “geek” or “knowledge enthusiast.” The alliteration of #naturenerd flows better than #naturegeek. =) An individual’s level of intelligence and/or education is irrelevant towards the qualification of being a #naturenerd.
The #naturenerd community accepts that everyone has different beliefs and characteristics. We do not discriminate against our fellow humans based on their genotypes and phenotypic expressions assuming behavioral phenotypic expressions do not encourage and/or cause unnecessary negative consequences for wildlife and the environment. (An example of a behavioral phenotypic expression that is not acceptable to the #naturenerd community would be an individual dumping paint into a creek. That’s a serious no-no as that behavior would have a negative impact on local wildlife within that ecosystem. It’s all commonsense stuff!)
Cheers!
