June, 2020 - By Koaw (Video originally released November, 2016)

This video has two parts:

How to clean pike with a simple method. (And an explanation as to the where, how, and why of Y-Bones - yes, you'll probably want to skip that.) Chapters: 0:0...
  1. The first part is an education lesson on what exactly are those Y-bones in the genus Esox.

  2. The second part contains the method for filleting pike to get the most meat and excluding those Y-bones.

We also keep the meat with the Y-bones to pickle for tasty treats. During the pickling process, the Y-bones disintegrate.

It does take practice to get good at filleting pike and getting the most meat. Keep at it! You’ll get there.
